For that money I’d be more tempted to stick to speakers only rather than adding a sub into the mix.

I think the little sub helps to take some of the work away from the door speakers, so the bass can be turned down on the head unit, leaving them to produce more mid range clarity.

Hi All,

Hoping someone will have some help and advice.

Looking to upgrade my current speakers (standard OEM) in my van.

I'd like something decent, with good clarity and good sound - not all bass! I'm also looking at adding a passenger seat sub.

I've seen a few things saying about the Eton T6 plug and play kit, is it any good? has anyone also got the USB sub?

My head unit is a Kenwood DNX516DABS if that makes any difference?

Thanks in advance!

Put the etons In mine in the end - happy enough with them without a sub - was a big improvement on the standard speakers and pretty easy to do. I did put sound deadening in which was well worth it

I was just perusing the Eton-related threads the other day (whilst my headunit is out and being repaired) as I was considering the compact amp upgrade. I’ve got a Discover Media headunit and the Eton P&P speakers in my T6. They’re a vast improvement over stock, in my opinion.

It’s said that, to get the best out of the 8” Etons, an amp is recommended because the standard h/u amp isn’t up to it.
I’m not sure about the Kenny, but @Absolut5 will know.

As you’re talking about adding a sub, the Etons might be too big for your needs, leaving the midrange wanting.

Speak to Jason at AbsoluT5 - I’ve not read a bad thing about them, he owns and knows Transporters, and will get you straight to where you want to be without selling you a load of tosh.

Thank you for the help and advice! Will have a chat to Jason and see what he thinks/says! I had also seen a lot about Absolut5 on other posts on the same thing!

Cheers :)

Hi, I want to get a couple of speakers installed in the back (roughly where shown in the pics) and the fader option activated on the standard stereo. Has anyone got a recommendation for someone near me or someone mobile that can do it at my house? Located in Ashford, Surrey, TW15
Thanks

Hello All,

I am moving onto the cab of my 2016 T6 with the sound deadening.

While I have the door cards off. I would like to upgrade the speakers.

I am not looking of the best of the best, just a nice decent budget upgrade, possibly along with tweeters in A pillars.

Please let me know your recommendations.

Looking for a direct replacement speaker, nothing too fancy.

Many Thanks

Stevie

Blam 200 RS is relatively popular entry/mid level speaker that can be had as a plug and play kit including tweeters. I have those and they're a big step up from OEM but nothing to write home about - for me they brought exactly what I wanted: clarity so that I can listen to radio on lower volume. See Dellmassive's nice post here: Audio Upgrade Stage-1 . . . . Blam Relax 200rs Speakers From Skipton.

Awesome mate. This is a good start for me to research. Yeah I am not needing to be blown away. Just upgrading really, only because I have the door card off.

If you end up going that route select the -3db (less bright) setting on tweeter crossovers.

They are overly bright to start with and cutover frequency is such that it doesn’t play nice at all with head unit treble adjustment, at least on discover media hu. They’re much smoother with -3db setting and still plenty airy.

Have you got a budget for the bits in mind? It would help to advise you which way to go

What is the difference between:

VW Transporter T6 Alpine Component Speaker System SPC-106T6 and the 108T6 version? Both seem the same but the 108 is a bit more ££. Also are either of these any good? If not what should I go for?

Also seen this, which seems to cheap to be any good?

TIA, Tom

As above, the size of the speaker.

I fitted the 106T6 to my van recently - very pleased with them - sound really good. I’ve also got some 6x9 Alpines in the back.

Personally unless your using an amp I'd stick the the 106T6 variant.

That other kit I'd steer away from the speakers are no where near the quality of the other kit and not sure why they're suggesting you want 2 way coaxials up front when the transporter uses 2 way components.

Drop me a message but I can sort you out no problem

Would you recommend getting an amp too then or would the 106t6 be sufficient.. It doesn't sound bad as stock tbh haha. What speakers would you recommend for the rear? I've got a t6 lwb shuttle

The 106 will be fine on a stock headunit buddy I'd go with the Alpine S-S65 to match the fronts.

Are you having a sub? Have you deadened the doors? Or is is just you want someone a bit better over stock?

I've bought a wonderful teyes cc3nChinese head unit which is meant to be really good as long as you have decent speakers. Aren't the doors on a shuttle deafened already? If not I'll do that at the same time. I probably will get a sub too when I can afford to, probably rather do all the speakers etc together
