Inlet manifold removal

Hello
I have changed the inlet manifold. It was a work of 7 hours. You do not need to remove the HP fuel pump.
Please ask me if you need more information.

Hi Johan,
Did you manage to remove the bolt behind the fuel pump with out removing pump.
Thanks

You just need to undo it a bit then the manifold slides to the right ,there is a cut out on manifold so yo don’t need to remove bolt .fuel pump does not need removing.

Hey, i had a problem with my egr, was leaking, so i already put a new one.
Now i start to remove the intake, because i was getting the p2006 code.
Can you give me some tips?
Cheers

When I click the link for the file it says "no permission to download". Could this be because I am a new member?

I'm on with this at the minute i've got all of the bolts out bar the bottom two middle i've got hoses and all sorts in the way was debating pulling the rad off for access as taking apart has been a nightmare I did the clutch and dmf quicker than this job.

Hi all. I’ve got the 2004/2006 codes on mine. Was stuck open then stuck closed. I watched a video of Riley’s Autos spraying a 5 litre bottle of DPF cleaner through the air intake of a Crafter… anyone looked into trying to clean the system on the car? But I’m assuming I need to remove the intake and replace.

I’ve got a 2018 T6 on 120k

1. What mileage is yours at if you’ve had to replace?
2. Which brand intake did you buy?
3. Did you remove the rad pack?

Cheers,

Alan

2016 102 107k on the clock with CXGB engine not got the intake off yet but not had time with it since my last post I have two bolts left to remove at the bottom middle of the intake I’m debating removing the rad but will see how we get on next time I can be bothered with it. Sometimes a break from these things is just what’s needed. Will post pictures when I get it off. Not ordering a replacement till I know it’s definitely knackered.

Same here. I’m going to make a start on it next week but remove intake and check it first, clean the EGR and pipe etc. price of a febi intake seems higher than an OEM one and there are cheaper no brand ones too. Will just have a look I suppose. Replacing it seems like a better idea overall tho than having to redo the whole process

So far I have found autodoc to be the cheapest for a replacement what about you? I'm thinking I may separate the egr to see what condition it's in the only reservation I have with that, is obtaining a replacement gasket for between the cooler and the valve.

Yeah autodoc has one for £170 or something. Just unsure of the quality. I’ve just reused metal gaskets on EGRs when I’ve cleaned them before. I suppose it depends on the condition. Well keep me posted on how you get on. I’ll start mine on Sunday or sometime

Just been given the nod from my local that the fuel pump does need removing? It’s a 2017 CXEB 204.

I’ve got on going dpf issues too, thinking it’s because the EGR is coded out so all the engine by-products are being sent down the exhaust rather than recirculating?

Sounds like I’ve opened a can of worms getting the manifold done. A nice 2k repair bill just before Xmas!

I can’t comment on the cxeb but I can see why they would say the pump needs removing if it’s the same as mine access is shocking I had to chop a torx or spline bit down and used a ratchet spanner to get the bolt out I’ve since found it only needed slackening rather than being fully removed.

I've had no issues with mine (that I'm aware of), although I'm fairly sure at 137k it's pretty blocked. I've been looking at the walnut blasting at Darkside. I maybe need to confirm that they clean the inlet manifold as well as the valves. My plan is to have the walnut blasting done along with a DPF clean as a preventative measure.
