Install tie down points post conversion

Hi folks - HNY and all that :p;

We have a converted T6.1 SWB, with 3 seats up front (the double set being swivel) and an electric rock 'n roll bed in the rear.

Instead of upgrading our van, we have just upgraded our dog collection. We will be needing a dog crate for 2 large'ish dogs and will get a DT-1000 crate. This will need to be tied down, but we do not have any tie-down points.

Can anyone help with suggestions on how to install these post-conversion?

Cheers :thumbsup:

probably best to get a conversion company to fit these, they could use a current van with the tie downs in place as a template to fit yours, I’m doing the same with the two front ones in our van, luckily , when I fitted my ply floor,I drilled the bolt holes through ply, so I now just need to peel back the floor covering, (i didn’t glue it) and use a hole saw to fit the plastic cups and tie down rings/bolts
If your cage is going by sliding door, you could probably use the two front and one by the right of sliding door

Another option that may be easier to achieve yourself:

Not sure about the SWB (it might be the same, it might be different) but the C-pillars have load points, circled in red in the image. Assuming yours has the female threads, it would be a fairly simple case of cutting the lining to expose the holes and bolting on.

In the LWB these points are perfect for applying downward pressure to large items by connecting between the two with a ratchet strap. I’ve transported dishwashers etc and would have no qualms about using a ratchet strap to keep a dog crate down from there.

Agree about approaching a conversion company unless you are 100% confident.

The other benefit of the these load points is you can Karibena your dogs’ leads to this point while you put your boots on.
