Hi,

Ok, so you're a resourceful lot on here...

I was putting the Disklok on to my van tonight, I dropped the key and its gone into the void at the bottom of the windscreen - as its at the very bottom I can't reach it or even get close with tweezers etc - you can't fit your hands down...

Taking the windscreen out is extreme, don't think the Dyson nozzle will fit to suck out - has anyone any ideas/brainwaves...

Off to seach for the strip you can fit in...

Thanks

Magnet long stick thingy.. like @Loz says.

Or blutak on the stick...

Or one of those long bendy 3prong tweezer grab handle things.

.

Or what about just a long piece of wire with a hook bent at the end.... like a coat hanger type thing.

.

Key's not magnetic... Doh!
I feel your pain. Just checked my key and you're right it's not magnetic. Can you see it? Could you get to it with blu tax on a stick or similar? My other half once snapped a key off in my car's disk lock whilst I was away. It was blocking her car in the drive. She want happy.

Oh and FYI... once you get it out.

Get one of the dash trim rubbers that fits across the windscreen to stop that happening again.

There was some on the T6F shop before.

Why are keys not magnetic. Thats insane, what happens if you drop then down the drain. They should be magnetic.
Good business idea there for someone.

Strip a length of 2.5 mm twin and earth cable and use the brown to try and hook through the hole on the key ?

Can't see it, thought could feel it but now can't! Think it's sat flat on the bottom, claw thing - not sure it will fit - the gap is very tight...

Looked in forum shop for seal but couldn't see it - Travelinn Lite do one so will prob order from there...

Keep the suggestions come, prize for the winner!!

You could always take the dashboard out. Around 3 hours out, 3 hours back in.
On second thought, grabby claw thingymajig might be a better option.

Defo bit of bendy wire then......

Bent around the dash trim...

Push key to end of trim or near windscreen glass..

Hook out with bendy wire..

Arnt keyrings magnetic?

.

Big issue is I can't see it - so cant hook on to it...

I'm thinking super sticky tape on a thin flexible thing - just not sure what the flexible thing is!!

Double or quits - do I end up losing more stuff down there trying to retrieve!!

I didn't even know you could still buy Diskloks.

Does that mean you cannot move your van now?

Use the vacuum cleaner and, with the narrow/tapered-end tool, elastic-band some of her tights / muslin cloth over the end and suck away

Put your phone camera in video mode, and record with light on around where you think it is..
The light from the camera may pick up the shine reflecting from the key.

..And you might be able to manoeuvre your phone into a better place to see than your head ?
