Finally - I saw it! Just for a few minutes before cloud cover got in the way

Ah, it was the loss of reflection? I thought it was cloud. It was really sparkling for a bit though as it clipped along
 
Yeah, I believe the light you see is reflection of sunlight....someone with better knowledge than me will confirm
 
Yes, reflected sunlight, but it went behind cloud as it passed over, on a clear sky I can still see it as it passes over Poland.

That makes sense. It was very “sparkly” when you could see it, but it was a bit like the lights went out with the cloud. SWMBO was out watching it with me and thought it was “sudden” too.

Are you using the GoISSWatch app? I downloaded it following a recommendation on this thread last year. For the first time ever it pinged me around 20:00 to say ISS was due over in two mins!!!
