For Sale LED Footwell Lighting kits

I wish you hadn't said that now....
Just about finished fitting my footwell lights and it's been a bit of a tale of woe for me unfortunately....
My rider is I have limited automotive skills.
So got the panels off fine leaving the airbag connector in place. Mislaid one of the scotchlock connectors which took me ages to locate.....the wind was getting up at this point. The loom was a bit short for me, maybe I didn't feed it through high enough. After cutting out the light blanks, I found I had to trim more plastic off to get the light units to fit. As I'm doing this the front door was hit by a gust which slammed it shut onto the dangling airbag connector panel. The button has popped off and after completing, I have an airbag warning alert. Having a brew before seeing if the airbag button is salvageable.....

At least the lights work.

@saxoboy apologies, totally forgot to post here to say everything was received safe and sound.

Now just need some motivation to get the bits I have piling up put on/in the van!

@saxoboy I came across your footwell and glovebox led lighting retrofit kits which have a great following on here, and would like to buy one of each please.

Actually when i saw these i had to go out and check the van (a highline) assuming that VW would surely fit as standard-how stupid of me.
I also saw your ambient cab lightning kit and wondered whether it would fit mine (similar to a previous member's photo of shuttle unit) which already has the red glowing buttons further back from the lights which illuminate when the headlights are on, shown on below photo. (The dial is elec sunroof). Do the 2 red leds on your unit illuminate with the headlights and would having duplicate controls work?

I am also interested to know more about your puddle lighting kits, fitment details and photos of end result.
Thanks.

Hi Matt
I’ve finally fitted mine today. Good job easy todo with easy instructions to follow. Might tackle the glove box light next. Here’s a pic
Also need the led upper bulbs to match as the yellow just don’t go anymore. .

So, I finally got round to finishing off the footwell lights install. The lights look great thanks @saxoboy I can confirm that if you have this front lighting unit the wiring is slightly different:

You still need to tap into the red/black wire in connector block T10ab (white one) as per the instructions, but you will find that there isn't a red/brown wire in the white connector. You need a red/brown wire from connector block T17k (green one). There are two red/brown wires in T17k - the correct one is the thinner of the two and is on pin 17 which is the end pin of the middle row (the other end of the middle row isn't used so it is easy to find).

Very happy I now have the footwell lights working and managed to fathom out which wire/connector from the wiring diagram. Says something that it has taken me 3 months to find the time to actually go out and wire it up. Hope this info helps someone else from scratching their head when a 10 minute job turns into a longer one because the wire you expect to find in a connector isn't there.

@Tsixty in the picture have you installed @Saxoboys ambient lighting kit with the 2x red leds or are you referring to the footwell lighting kit?

I ask since i have the same front lighting unit with elec sunroof dial, and Saxoboy said the ambient lighting kit would not fit this type of unit, so i am confused? But, I have also got to fit the footwell lighting kit so very useful info either way thanks!

Hi @Rhodders, @Tsixty is explaining the installation of the footwell lights (actually I didn't know it would be slightly different to install in a van with cabin lights like yours, please follow Tsixty's instructions, when you install your footwell kit and use the red/ brown thin wire in the green connector).

The ambient lighting kits I supply are like the below picture, its a totally different light fitting, that will not fit in your vans cabin area....sorry, as discussed off line.

Matt
Understood, all clear thanks.

@Rhodders I only installed the footwell lighting kit. The red ambient overhead lighting kit that @saxoboy sells definitely will not fit if you have the same switch unit as me.

Edit - I should have read the two posts above before replying
Edit2 - made it clearer in my post that I was referring to the installation of the footwell light kit (confusing I guess as there is a picture of the overhead switch console)

Hi does the footwell kit come with a light for each foot well and how easy is it to fit the glove box light?
hi got a new t6.1
how does the light on the floor well go off when sleeping in van it only seems to go off when i use fob writing this at 2 am in van scratching my head

Hi @tinctina obviously you haven't' got my footwell lights that go off when you close a door, or when your in the van, turn off after a set time.....they certainly should do, or your battery will drain....Matt
