Lifos to Fogstar

FYI…

When my van was converted by Knights Custom Conversions almost 5 years ago a new 105ah Lifos ( green) leisure battery ( cost around £1k then)was installed with a 5 year warranty….soon after I took delivery of my newly converted van a fault on the gas switch came up with an error code of ‘ low battery voltage’ , which automatically turned the gas off, although the van had either been on charge or driven etc and the app told me the battery was fully charged. This fault was intermittent but 9 times out of 10 it would happen however the van had been used. The battery has never gone below 95% capacity. This fault was duly reported back to Knights.
Fast forward to the beginning of the year when a convenient point came to take the van back to Knights for them to sort it.
Well after 10 weeks :( of them having it they have finally sorted it with a new leisure battery.
After several checks were made to rule out anything else Lifos/ distributor were notified which I was told would be a painfully slow process. First of all they offered to recalibrate the battery which they duly did but to no avail. They eventually offered a replacement Lifos which would only be warranted for the remainder of the original term on the original battery wtf…I.e 6 months!
Knights offered me a Fogstar as an alternative, at cost price, which they are fitting as matter of course now to all their conversions instead of the Lifos which they have lost faith in and whose customer service is dire. Fogstar come with a 10 year warranty.
Picking up next week, can’t wait to have the ole girl back!!

If they're only offering you the balance of the original battery's warranty, then it sounds like Lifos have also lost faith in Lifos too!

Sounds like the converters don't value their customers very highly either of they're willing to mess you around for 10 weeks over a replacement battery.
Yeah it has been quite painful as their coms havnt been great and the fact it was an 'intermittent' issue gives a licence to stretch it out.
I think you are correct @CAB with the warranty, just seems very unfair to the consumer imo.
