Well be strapping our vango galli awning to ours at the weekend to travel to Wales. I just use ratchet straps to secure. Made it to Cornwall and back last year like this no problems.
The rack is then used as a glorified washing line while we're away!

Sounds about right. I had some compression straps fitted that take the slack out of the bag isn’t full, stops it flapping around. You didn’t buy a bag for a Weber 2000 bbq st the same time did you? That’s my design too

The heavy duty material on the bike rack bag is great, much better than the fiamma bike rack cover that ripped apart in the wind , spinning the warning square off down the motorway.

Im looking at one of these fold down racks to use for extra bags as opposed to bikes.

Can anyone tell me if the bike arms and bike wheel holders can be fully removed so I’m left with just a fold down shelf for extra luggage?

I’ve done exactly that in the past. I had a custom bag made to fit on the bike rack, with straps to attach it. We used it to carry our blow up awning until we gave up on the awning idea.

Hi.. Thule do a purpose made bag for racks…..not cheap ….not got one..but look good quantity
