Hi all
Just been reading the thread about the Stolen T6, and it made me think of something unpleasant which happened to myself a few years ago, this was that my number plate had been cloned and was being used by some t**t with the same make and colour Audi as mine, and I was bombarded with speeding/parking tickets from several completely different areas to where I had actually been, and it took a great deal of time and patience to sort this out.
So I hope this does not offend anyone on this site and I realise that this could happen just by the chance of being spotted while out driving, but I have noticed there are a few Avatars on here that show Reg details.....
Once again I am only trying to make a point and not rock the boat with any members.

My vehicle has a tracker and quite a unique wrap so not overly concerned although you have a valid point and people should beware.

Prove it, thats what I say... :)

Distinguishing marks.. cctv and dash cam..

Actually if you go Busfest you'll have loads to pick from..

I agree totally, and I did not eventually end up having to pay a penny, however I still had to prove my activities to the police even though I had distinguishing Alloy wheels, etc, as I said just a point, and I hope this does not happen to anyone else..

Happened to me years ago, I got a ticket for jumping a red light in Glasgow whilst I was standing on the platform at Paddington waiting for a train back to Bristol.

I pointed out that the laws of physics prevented me from being in both places at the same time. :)

Cloned number plates are increasingly used for criminal activity as making up entirely false plates doesn’t work any more, thanks to technology which can check plates quickly. So criminals prefer to clone real plates, and they like ones that are up to date with MOT, tax and insurance. Therefore, don’t ever upload photos of your car to any website with the number plate showing, even if you are selling your car on a site such as Gumtree.

Entirely Your Choice...

I've always found it super easy to get plates made up on eBay (I'm not a crim just have a personalised plate) they are often listed as show only plates because you can get them made without showing a logbook.
If I was a criminal I wouldn't pick a vehicle that is so unique and stand out to duplicate.

We all get paranoid about our number plate being seen online yet we think nothing about driving about all over the place in public displaying it to all and sundry...just a thought

I'm so paranoid I cover mine up as I drive down the road. No flies on me!
Ohhhhh man I just missed a perfect chance to say "no, all the damn flies are on me" and then posted the fly ridden pic of my van.

WAKE UP JONNY!
