Motorproblemen [Engine problems]

Our VW t6 L2H1 with CXE diesel engine (150kW) 4-wheel drive from 2017 and 190,000 km on the clock and purchased 1 month ago. Car completely checked by garage before our vacation (see anonymous invoice in the attachment). Even the engine has been out due to difficult to reach and replace parts). While driving home, 1500 km after we left home, the orange light with filament came on and the car started driving in emergency mode +/- 100 km per hour max. The same light came on a few weeks earlier and the mechanic said that the light was from the particulate filter and after regeneration it had disappeared. So we checked the oil and water again and it was ok. Because we were on our way home, we decided to drive home; at that time it was 1:00 at night near Cologne. Car drove like a charm until that orange light. After a while we were alerted by light signals from another motorist (in the pitch dark) and saw that the car was giving off smoke. We stopped immediately and while stopping the engine made a strange noise. There was no more oil on the dipstick. We eventually came home with a towing service. The owner of the towing company in Limburg also had a VW garage and told me that these were not good engines due to always high oil consumption due to bad piston rings. My garage found a hole in one of the pistons. A possible cause could be a "pissing" injector, but our mechanic sent injectors for a test. Nothing noteworthy could be found on the injector in question. Some questions for the readers. 1. The engine needs to be overhauled. Do you know a reliable address? 2. Are the same piston rings inserted directly and can I check that? 3. Should I also have a new turbo and particulate filter installed after the overhaul? 4. Has anyone had this before? Attached is the invoice for the major service before the holiday.

CXEB engine code?

More info.

.

Is that invoice for 9k euro for an engine rebuild?

The CXEB engine from that date range is known for block wearing out.

Vw fix is New engine + DPF + cat.

The statement “ even the engine has been out” fills me immediately with suspicion.
What parts were replaced that required the whole engine to be removed?
I would of been wary of buying a van that has just had its engine removed

No idea on consumer law in Belgium, but after such a comprehensive engine rebuild surely a complete engine failure must be a warranty issue after only 1 month of ownership.
As an aside, I wish labour rates in the UK were €48 per hour.
