MPG 150 DSG

You're on...........but I just have to declare again that my MFD (Multi Fictional Display) is wildly inaccurate! My best tankful is 44.6 mpg manually calculated (that was the fictional 51.4mpg pic I posted). Let the games begin..........no cheating though......right!

Ok so tonight I did a test run, It was the most tiring drive of my life. 33 minutes of hell, the idea of doing that for hundreds of miles filled me with dread.

My 30 miles journey returned.....

But ........ you cant prove it because you are on screen one and you didnt reset before the journey !
Could be a 1 mile journey downhill !!

I now just face the fact my fuel cost has gone up by £200 a month and so the company car tax saving is £0 ha

I think we should see who can do worst mpg over a tank lmao

I've had over 53 on mine at times though the best overall is around 49 on a 150 mile trip not sure how you managed to get the last one unless you were holding the phone while driving ;)

Any decent run I get good mpg, admittedly I don't cane my van, 65mph is about my lot. If I do drive more aggressively then my mpg does drop right off into the low 30s. Last week the catalytic converter light came on, the handbook said to drive slowly to the nearest dealer; seeing as it was Saturday afternoon and I was 150 miles from home I just drove home at 50mpg to the joy of all users on the M6, my mpg was 59.something.

So maybe how you drive might have something to do with the mpg returns you get and it is probably very possible that good economy is possible if you drive appropriately?

Had our fully converted 150 manual for about 3 months now. So impressed at how smooth and the power particularly on hills the 150 engine has. Not sure about economy yet but so far seems to be doing 36-40mpg which for a fully converted van seems ok to me.
Looking at the engine though it looks so small. How do they develop so much power from a small unit. It looks about 2/3rds of the size of my VW 1.9tdi 130 engine in my old seat Ibiza.
Will these engines last as long without problems as that engine 160,000 miles so far no problems. Hope the will, want to keep this van for along time.

The MPG on the 150's is so wildly different.

How can a fully converted van get 36/40 mpg, yet my completely empty 150 kombi gets 30mpg MAX. And drive it like a granny.

I'm genuinly confused.

Yes I do drive like a granny also. Mainly rural driving most runs around 15-30 miles.
