Mud Flaps for tailgate vans... recommendations??

Mud flaps are they a good idea? Do they prevent much tailgate splatter? Foe about the frontscdo they keep the side of the van cleaner?
Mine is standard height and likely to stay that way due to ground clearance being needed.

I've got genuine VW flaps on mine. Decent quality but with my 20's on makes not a lot of difference due to tyres been wider. Rears are yet to be fitted as they sit about 50mm back from rear arch for some reason and they also screw on the face of the rear bumper. So I'm looking at modifying mine to work how I want them too. I know there is an alternative product out there which some of the lads have got. Im sure someone will tell what the make.

Had them on our last Cali; they caught kerbs, the brackets bent, they were a pain to clean.
So not got them on the T6!

I've got genuine VW's fitted and tbh they are a bit of a waste of time, they don't seem to stop splatter up the side and back of the van and you also have to drill the back bumper. In hindsight I wouldn't have fitted genuine.

Oh dear seems like a waste of time then!
My van does seem to get awfully dirty very quickly at the moment.

Looking to drop mine on B14's in the near future, and I already catch the mudflaps on the kerb when reversing down the drive at 30mm lowered suspension. Reckon they will have to come off when I drop it further or they will get ripped off. Only problem is that I have the rear ones that are screwed through the bumper, so will a bit of filling/ flatting/ and painting to do:thumbsdown:.

Yes I've got genuine VW's fitted to the front, seems to be a wast of time as it doesn't stop much road dirt. The van is as dirty with or without ! couldn't bring myself to screw into the rear bumper so never fitted the rears.

I fitted front and rear vw flaps, was very apprehensive about drilling holes in my shiny new van so procrastinated for a few weeks.
Anyhoo, it's done now.
I still have to wash my van!

whats people's opinion? I've had dealer fit on my last two vans, wondering if I should try something different than vw ones..

Factory rears fit back from the wheel and are screwed through bumper so no going back there are aftermarket ones that fit in wheel arch closer to wheel that some people prefer

Sandy has the factory fit do the job ok plus the rear ones are good as you reverse to the curb if you stop just before they touch your in the right position for parking.

Had no problem with the dealer ones in the past which are the same as factory, just thinking should I get from factory instead of dealer drilling my bumper

Got after markets.. Not happy with the fit of the rear, planning on trying some others.. I will post where I got these from.. They look good, and do the job, but not up to my quality for fitment... Hate the OEM rear ones.. Wtf fitting 1/2 way along rear bumper.. That's pants!

I thought factory fitted didn't have the screws but fitted afterwards (even OEM) have the screws???

Still got mine in their box in the garage.... can't bring myself to screw my bumper
