Mud Flaps for tailgate vans... recommendations??

Genuine ones are decent but the rears mount back from the wheel arch and need screwing through the bumper so not to a lot of people’s taste
Veedubtransporters do some cheap sets or some people modify genuine caddy ones as these can be fitted in front of the bumper without screwing through the bumper

By a sheet of 3mm rubber and make your own using stainless self tappers to mount in the plastic mount in the wheel arch.
Did it for years on land rovers and gives you the full on group A rally look if you feel the need.

Generic universal ones can be made to fit with a little trimming and maybe adding an angle bracket to attach to the plastic underside behind the wheel arch. Dirty photo, but the spray pattern shows most of the muck isn't coming from the ground up. They mount in the proper place too, unlike the OE VW ones. Holes are in the arch liner and not the bumper.

I've got the same ones as Deaky of ebay and they work fine and are easy to fit

Are we happy having to drill holes for these to fit though ?
I'm dangerous Brian when it comes to doing things like this

My yard is on a farm so my van gets well dirty, has anyone found a set of front mud flaps that will stop the mud going all up the front doors, the factory ones just don’t cut it.

OEM flaps get my vote.. but you may want to seek some that come further out.

The issue isn't always the mud flaps, because on most standard out the factory T6's with the correct wheels, suspension etc, the genuine ones work fine.
The problem is when we stick on wider wheels, change where the outer edge of the tyre sits when lowering, and all the other good stuff we do to these things. It's all a compromise between looks and practicality.
I use genuine flaps, they fit nice, look discrete, and to an extent, they work ok. (only on the front, because they way they fit the rear flaps is not my cup of tea)

Wider more traditional style front flaps are impossible to fit on a T6 because the fact the arch curve is the actual door, not the wing like most other vehicles.

I had the oem flaps on my last T6, I liked the look but they did very little in helping keeping the van clean, they also bent driving through deep mud resulting in the paint flaking off the brackets and then rusting. Didn't bother with them this time around and don't miss them either. :)

I do let it get muddy but you feel like I should respect a 40k plus VAN!! A bit more, when you see so many shiny ones around.
