Hi, I hope I’m putting this thread in the right place. If not please let me know.
Ok, I decided a few months back I wanted to build a day van. I was toying with a Transit MSRT but drive a transit every day for my job and to be honest they aren’t the best. I knew the transporter was the go to van and had my heart set on a T6 but it had to be the one I wanted.
Searched and searched and came across the van pictured here. It’s a 2016 SWB Highline 180bhp manual with glazed tailgate. Had to have cruise and a/c so made sense to go for a Highline and the tailgate/180bhp engine was a bonus. Collected the van from Milton Keynes 4/5/18.
Already had a idea of what I want it to look like so before I even drove/looked at/signed for the above van I’d spent close to £5000 on parts.
Had to be Van slam coilovers as I had seen nothing but good reviews and for the price they can’t be matched. These were set to the lowest setting on the rear and 10mm from lowest setting at the front. Going to adjust the rears when I see what the extra weigh does to the setup.
Had seen another Transporter with these wheels and it just looked so good I shamelessly had to copy. These are Axe EX30’s in 20” staggered fitment of 8.5 fronts and 10” rears wearing Kumho tyres.
I’ve also fitted Vanstyle chrome 60mm side bars and the Sportline rear spoiler.
These parts were fitted by 11/5/18.
Next exterior parts to be fitted are the DRL front headlights and genuine front splitter. Itching to get the splitter on but doesn’t make sense when the bumper has to come off to change the lights.
Dropping the van off tomorrow to have the rear windows fitted to the side door and behind driver and have the carpet lining/insulation fitted.
Kitchen unit being collected/fitted 19th of this month then I just need to do all the electrical work (only) and fit my RIB Altair before hopefully getting to use it.
Thanks for looking. I will update as more work is carried out.
