Been busy with work so not been working on the van as much as I would like but here’s an update.
Had to take the bed and kitchen unit out to do the wiring. Should have been done first but I’ll know for next time!
Sorting a leisure battery this week and then that should be the wiring complete.
Had the bed in temporarily without the rear brace for the rear bolts. Looked at buying one but decided I’d just make my own!
Got my tape measure out and here are the results. Happy with it and looking to get the bed back in this week. Saved myself £100 ish on the Kiravans one.
Going to be driving to Spain end of July so looking to get this finished.
Need to chase my local caravan centre to see where my fridge and hob/sink are. Should of been here 2 weeks ago
Forgot to add the pictures of fitting the double seat swivel.
You would never believe it will turn round 180 degrees but it does!
Currently building something similar to this tow bar mounted basket for my trip to Spain. I have a lot of belongings to take to my mothers apartment and I want to still be able to use the van comfortably.
I have the basic bracket made which will go over the tow ball and it’s looking good!
Nice! I actually saw something similar to this the other week. It had a tow board and lights built onto it too. But couldn't see how it was mounted. So sorry can't share any useful tips.
It’s going to save me having the van full of cases/boxes etc. Even if they are in the van while driving I can load them on the rear when I get to a camp site.
May need to raise the coilovers on the rear to balance it out.
CRX50 and 9222 finally arrived. Only problem is when I ordered it from my local caravan supplier I agreed a cost of £800 for the 2 items and everything needed to fit them.
Collected them today to find only the fridge and hob/sink unit. Not even the tap. The salesman I originally ordered this through is off for 3 weeks so they have agreed to supply the remaining parts, only problem being they know about as much as me as to what is missing.
I’ve been given 2 10L water containers, a 12v water pump, a length of gas hose and I think that’s about it. Also nothing to secure the fridge into the unit! I mean what is the point in selling the fridge for a price then the part it OBVIOUSLY needs to mount it isn’t included? You could 100% buy a full size fridge and a kitchen sink from B&Q and have change to spare from £800.
This has really annoyed me and has taken a bit of the fun out of all this. I just think it’s a bit of a con by the manufacturers as surely the people buying these items need all the fittings too. Would just make more sense to supply them in the first place!
