I loved the look of the banded steels but they just weren't practical really. I drive down a lot of rough country lanes on the way to the lakes I fish so the slight stretch on the tyres were always exposed to sharp rocks and it was only a matter of time before I scraped the exposed rim on the rear, so I decided to switch over to 20" alloys. They are Cades Hera in Matt Black.
The Stance coilovers were fine until I started adding weight to the rear but after that, the ride was virtually frightening with the front bouncing like mad and the rear virtually jumping out on occasions so I changed them to B14 Komforts. It now drives like a completely different van.
The fronts are down as low as they can go but the backs still need to be wound down to the lowest setting.
I'm contemplating doing the Transporter HQ front top mount mod and rear adjuster delete though as in my opinion, it should be a bit lower than this.
The ride comfort on the B14 komforts and combination of 255/40 20 tyres is really good though.
The bed on rails has been great but it meant I couldn't store much underneath as it gets dragged along the floor when I moved it so I set about making a drawer for undrneath.
I needed to build something which sat on the bed frame and I could also remove if needed.
