No-deal "tax" On New Vehicles

No deal Tax! I am looking at ordering a new Caddy with every option I can put on it.
But I won’t be signing to say I will stump up a extra 10%, I’ll go else where and get 0% on hp!

But the point is that if the 10% tariff does happen, there’ll be no escaping it as it will be lumped onto every imported vehicle from every manufacturer, unless the uk government decides not to implement it. My feeling is that a deal will be put together at the very last minute Hollywood style. Then afterwards everyone will realise that the deal is so one-sided that the leavers will hate it as it won’t give all the things they wanted, and the remainers will hate it because it’s screwed up the country anyway.

This is a big concern really - 10% surcharge for literally nothing would be baaaad.

Whatever your views on Brexit nobody thought that three years would take us to no deal at all

Diesel just needs a rebrand by a PR agency to shake off the image. How about HDfuel? Powerdrive 4K?

Give that job to Apple.
They could make a huge song and dance about diesels being 'their' newest invention, sticking the letter 'I' in front of everything, and boom, the leamings will do as instructed.

I like it - iFuel - they could even sell it in different colours to suit the Instagram girls to match their nails and Audis.

The upside to all this, is that us existing owners will see our residuals rise by 10%. Every cloud has a silver lining:D

That all depends on if the manufacturer passes on the full 10% tax. If you sign up now, you are contracted to pay the tax. If everyone turns round & says “stick it” the manufacturer may have to absorb some of the hit in order to maintain sales. Signing up beforehand is like giving the Stealers a blank cheque.

I've just ordered mine the other day. Only thing i signed was the vehicle order form..nothing else..no finance forms..nothing. I've definitely not signed any form saying that im contracted to pay extra...was told if extra became reality..i could back out.

Ignore that. Yes they have changed the Vivaro, but not like I thought. It's just a re-badged Citroen/Toyota/Peugeot. Pffft

Vivaro. The greatest thing to ever come out of Luton; doesn’t say a lot about the quality of Luton exports.

I have the Toyota variant..as well as a Transporter. it might be French but it is an absolutely superb thing to drive. No dashboard lights, regens or slurping of adblue. Very quiet and refined and at least 40mpg from the 2.0 120.
Might upgrade to the 180 auto when the 8 speed gearbox arrives.
Just need the conversion companies to latch on and start producing swag..

Wasn't the old one just a rebadged Renault?

No. The Renault was a rebadged Vauxhall

As many issues as I had with my 2015 Vivaro, I still have a soft spot for them.
They might fall apart everytime you shut the door too hard, and yeah they are a bit boring, but I still say they drive fantastic, and the fuel economy was amazing.

Disclaimer: Prefer my VW.

I contacted the dealership where I ordered asking about my deposit in case of a 10% tariff and he wrote back

"Just checked with our head of business, and he’s confirmed that in the event of a No Deal price hike, all deposits are fully refundable. Hopefully that puts your mind at ease"

Mine's due early june - feels like ages off :(
