No-deal "tax" On New Vehicles

I wonder how many people would want their deposits back...and how many would take it on the chin? Id prob be due an extra 3k at least..thats alot of cash. Dunno wot id do...prob go look for a used van maybe.

I'd go 2nd hand - already stretched myself to buy the spec I went with and another £3.5k would take it close to £40k

The vw dealers must be worried...if lots of people just take their deposits and walk..thats alot of business lost. How many people are seriously going to say..yeah fine..charge me another 3.5k?

But it will be same with any vehicle, so either you keep your existing car (can do for a few years) otherwise any vehicle you buy will go up, the 10 per cent would be for ALL imports, food, clothes, so it will effect everyone equally. As I mentioned earlier the fall in stwrSter maybe more than 10per xent anyway. So more like 20-25 per cent. Inflation here we come.....of course all exports become cheaper.

Or buy a Vivaro, made in Luton ?

Probably ok, the manufacturers will 'hedge' the currency for a while anyway i.e. 6-12 months before we see any impact, sooner in supermarkets of course.

If we get a deal of course I bet when Sterling strengthens again we don't see a discount thought a little more profit.....
