Sorry another question, did you replace the 'shield' (dont know its name) that sits at the back of the brake disc for a bigger version for the bigger disc? Do you have the part numbers of you did? Thanks.
Yeah. I replaced the shields. Sorry,
don't have the part numbers as they came as part of the 340mm brake upgrade package.

Fitting Time, . . .

thanks to @Pauly & @Nutexa Frictions - now i need the matching rear set please.
starting off here, wheel bolts cracked and van jacked up. . .
i used two jacks and two axle stands for this job. . . . and positioning of these items is always a asked question.
so here is a view of how i rigged it up for the job . . .
fluid cap off. . .
out with the old . . . . . . . . .
the 21mm M16 Calliper bracket bolts to to be preplaced according to the book. . . so thank to the local TPS for relieving me of nearly £20 for the set of four. . .
anyway i split two 21mm sockets last time trying to get those out. . .
no such trouble this time with the IMPACT rated sockets + breaker bar + extension bar.
in with the new. . . .
see the other thread for the full process . .. . . here we are pads and discs loaded. . .
over to the other side. . . . pads out.
i had to deal with this damaged pad/abs sensor loom, but thats a seperate issue.
fixed - but this time cable tied on for good measure. . .
now fully loaded and ready to roll.
nice - job done. . . .
fluid res` cap back on . . . it was time to pump the peddle till hard then a gentle test drive. . .
during the test drive there was a noticeable flutter sound that the pads and discs made under braking, this was due to the cross drill and vented pattern of the discs.
i made me feel like a BTCC racing driver for 30seconds. . .
back at base there was a light puff of wispy smoke as everything got used to the hot temps,
a mix of burning off the coatings, the brake cleaner and remaining WD40 on the Hubs. . .
a quick check around showed all good and as it should be.
awesome. . . . . .
the following day i had a 40 odd mile round trip. (70% A road - 30% city road)
by the end of it the brakes were feeling almost fulled bedded in. .
great stuff.
now i just need to do the rears.

Personally....
I can't feel anything through the peddle.
But I can hear the flutter sounds when breaking.....
If your not keen on that..... Just order the standard profile disks.
Or dimpled

we've ran the dimpled & grooved on our van and the N-hook on our golf and nothing felt through the pedal, I'm now running the 370mm grooved big brake kit and still nothing felt through the pedal.
@Dellmassive I'm looking to swap my discs and pads because they're rusting and it splatters. How are the Nutexas a few months in? Do they rust at all or does the coating hold up? Cheers, Kev
That are still great.
The blank coating had worn off on the meeting surfaces as expected.
No signs of rusting on the discs.
And performing as good as day one.
Definitely better than stock breaks under heavy breaking, not noticed any break fade at all. - and we run a heavy van with a lot of motorway breaking.
Next up I need to do the rears...
Hopefully Rus & Jan @Nutexa Frictions can bring me a set of rear T6 discs and pads to Busfest this week.....nudge nudge . (,we'll be up Thursday evening guys, to setup the T6 Forum club section)

Yes slightly with the dust.
The drilled and grooved discs make a flutter sound under breaking (when the window is open), so if you think that will bother you, go for the plain disc.
Apart from that they take a while to warm up in the mornings, the first few breaks are fun with a heavy van.... (I'm 340mm fronts.). But after that initial warm up, they are fine
Previously I run, OEM, Pagid, Brembo.
These are a good pads and discs setup,
They are forum trade members, plus a UK
Company, and Russ & Jan are awesome.

Time for some new ones and shopping around at the moment but have heard good reviews abouttheir discs

No problems since fitted last year

I have the 6 pots on the front with 370mm discs and the new 356 big disc upgrade on the rear. I had dimpled and grooved all round on the caddy, grooved on the Q2.
All vehicle had a noticeable decrease in brake dust. Anything with a groove will make a flutter noise, dimpled don't.
As for braking from cold we've never experienced an issue or had it reported by any customers, so not sure what to advise there.
I'll be running Nutexa pads in my new mountain bike to. Getting back into the swing of things and promising the wife I won't go back to racing again...

Any grooved disc regardless of manufacturer will make a fluttering noise….as old bed hair Boris said once “Thems the brakes”
