Our T6.1 Ascot Grey panel van conversion to campervan

We're trying to chose between RIB and Stide. Won't be a 130, would be a RIB 120 or a Stide which are 115ish.

Are you fitting it yourself?

We had a rock an roll in our old t4 but wanted the rib for our new van... we have gone for 130 RIB slider, waited konths for it to come in, there's been a backlog due to the brick effect material being out of stock.
We kind of are fitting ourselves but our friend's own a camper conversion shop so we are taking it down to do it with them there

Just a few things like the space comfort. Size and the way it folds out and we wanted it to match our front seats, our t4 came with the rock and roll so we didn't particularly choose that..looked at loads of reviews and stuff before we decided

The splash panel. Does it come ready made or it a one off? Real wood? Oak? One piece? Looking to put a van shade, uncarpeted. Bambo or wood splash back, kitchen pod with no end unit. As I have a spod speaker in corner.

Hi yes it comes in one piece, made to size from can furniture, we choose oak like the worktops/table/shutter. Van shades will fit with this, we just chose not to get the can shades..hope that helps

Final piece to the van conversion...the fridge!

Nice. I'm researching on how it's all fitted. Lots of youtube watching. Have you a hob/sink? Gas/electric? Nice set up. Oak looks stunning. My van is a money pit. Just looking for right combination. Gas or electric hob? Fitting all the electrics. Finding a competent installer locally or not to far away. Can I do some myself?

Looking at companies who make kitchen pods, but then it's installing them. I like a challenge so gathering lots of ideas etc.

Oh definitely find the right fit for you! Do we had a T4 already converted when we got it a good few years ago. Learnt from that what we needed or didn't... so our vanwe went for a pop top (bed for our daughter) 130 (larger) rib bed and a slimline kitchen/cupboard unit...we found we never used the sink in the last van or cooked inside (thought the smell of food stuck to the inside of the van) so we just have the worktop...we have a camping size gas can in the cupboard and use a camping hob/cooker stove thing to cook outside or under the tailgate...this set up works perfect for us

We fitted the kitchen units ourselves, van furniture is flat packed but straight forward. Our friends have a conversion shop so was handy to help us with some bits...what part of England are you in?

I'm near Cardiff. Yeah, I agree with having what set up works for each of us. I quite fancy fitting units in myself. But if I found a local installer for right price I'd consider them doing it. Getting ideas and not rushing. No intentions of having pop top.

I hope you find what's best for your van :) would of recommended our friends garage but abit far here in Liverpool! But VanFurnitures units and worktops are really great quality and come with instructions which are pretty easy to follow to do yourself

@NatMc24 yes that’s it. Thanks a lot. I’ve not carpeted the metal of my sliding door but that looks great.
I think I’ll crack on and get it done like yours.
Cheers.
@NatMc24 lovely looking van btw but I have another question on the carpeting, similar to bigsidavies but on the tailgate, it looks like the seal seals on the carpet (same for the sliding door actually), does that work? can you share some photos of that too? We only have the panel carpeted on the tailgate and get a lot of condensation on the metal so I’m interested to see how it’s done
