Safari windows fitted

The opening / clear section is 740 x 340
From the top and bottom there is about 80mm and the large section to the right is about 160mm

I do like these safari windows from the outside.
Wonder why they didn't make that blanked out section on the right a bit smaller? It would make the opening section a lot bigger

Gave it a good few rounds of Captain Tolleys, during the rare good weather we had Thursday and Friday. Thought I kept it off the paint work, nice full length trail down the side of the van on Saturday morning! Autoglym tar remover made light work of it. It’s absolutely chucked it down today in Manchester and so far so good, bone dry around the trim. I haven’t had chance to take it for a drive in heavy rain yet as that will be the real test, but I’m cautiously optimistic!

Also apologies for highjacking the thread on this matter, but I’m loving the safari window! Still need to install the second one……..
It's all good. I love how everyone gives their hints and tips on here so hi Jack away haha

I love it tbh, it suits my needs that perfectly I've just had the other side fitted too.

That said, I've removed the VanShades to finish the interior carpeting and found the drainage channel had almost removed itself. Its not serious by any means as its on the interior side of the window so only likely condensation will drip down there, plus its an easy fix with a bit of sikaflex :)

Just thought I'd let you know in case its a common issue.

We were think the same...I suppose you could have them open slightly driving but we havbt tried yet...could not find anything online about driving withh them open
You certainly can drive with safari windows open on the first latch. I've just done it accidentally driving home from work. Had been in the van for lunch and forgot to shut it. Didn't have any rear passenger so can't comment on how much breeze they get in the back.

I f driving through a town during peak hours might be a bit arkward explaing all decapited cyclist left in ones wake if
Think that's the only bad point...they are so worth it tho...maybe a few fairy lights round them of a night if open :D
Could an inadvertently left full open safari window pose a serious threat to a cyclist or pedestrian? I am not suggesting that people might deliberately drive that closely but it does happen somewhere to some one I am sure.

Only the same as our motorhome and most caravan windows ...nobody worries about going to bed with them open .
And yes the windows are gonna hurt if/when you walk into them ....done it many times .

They shouldn't be open while driving tbh, if they are it'd only be open less than an inch so there shouldn't be any problems like that touchwood

Yes of course they should not be open but it may very well happen to someone and the more that have these windows, then the more likely it will occur to some one. It has already been admitted to and of course they where only partially open which should course little problem. I am merely trying to highlight the risk with a little humour. I do not think that we have a decapitated head emoji on standby.
