Hi all, we are travelling to Biscarose in France in the summer and Crossing at Calais. I'm hoping to drive about 3 hours from Calais before stopping for an over night stay. Has anyone travelled this route and can recommend a good spot to stay (hotel as we aren't set up for camping yet) I think Le Mans might be a bit further than we want to travel in 1 day. Thanks.

We generally use Ibis Budgets for a stop en-route to our final desitination. Fairly basic, but clean, and usually can accomodate the whole family in one room. Some have swimming pools which can be nice after a drive. Opt for the fringes of any town for secure free parking and avoids time spent in traffic,
Ibis Styles Saint Quentin. Bloody brilliant, couldnt get in recently and staying a F1 a bit further on which was a dump. Stayed a few times now and the rooms whilst small are really nice and the breakfast is great.

Yes, we've been caught out with F1's before with communal bathrooms off of corridor and no air con in 40 degree heat. Double checked the rates to see if you could book by the hour in case it was that kind of establishment.
