Pauls new wheels?...

Mate, they look awesome.
Yeah, you will either have to lift your suspension or lower the tyre profiles for Solows. That's why I decided to sell them, because I knew I'd be buying another set of tyres to let me go lower. You could stick the winter tyres on one set and use for the crappy months by lifting your suspension. The other set will need a stretched 40 or even a 35 if you dare. This will allow you to go really low, keeping the rims level with the arch, but the tyres tucked under the arch. A lot of the Air guys seem to like their arches sat on the rim when aired out, and by the looks of your pictures, they might sit spot on.

I had 20s when I had SoLow’s fitted and had trouble with them rubbing everywhere on the front. Admittedly I had rated tyres for T32. On the highest I had to have all the liners out and it still rubbed on full lock. I suppose if you change the tyre and work some magic they will fit. Also you’ve got someone there who has experience in SoLow’s and 20s to lean on! And your very near THQ which helps.

move got her arse up in the air now spinning the back to its lowest setting to try that... see how it sits. I’ve also got a adjuster delete here.bit scared on running a 35. I never run really any weight until camping..

Are these SoLows wound right down? Are you running 18” banded?
Looks just right
So I’m on SoLows but there at the maximum height, if I go any lower my wife seems to have a run in with the speed bumps in my local sports centre and pulls off the splitter, I’ve also taken 1” off the bottom of my mud-flaps as the noise they made drove me crazy when going over speed bumps

Im convinced, order some SoLows from HQ and go for 18" banded, decided my 17" just don't cut it.....

good to meet tourshine'+spaghetti boy tonight  those wheels look stunning on tourshines van in the flesh nice van too:cool:

@Jayjmac
Sorry, just realised we'd hijacked someone else's thread

I will answer your 10" question here.
So 10" ET35 running 245/40/20's are very close on the new lows, but surprisingly still no rubbing anywhere on the front. The only catching I have is my front mud flaps catch anything bigger than a twig! and my rears will skim the top liner if I hit a dip in the road, but not very often.

On that note, i'm not overly confident the B14 rear springs will last long now i've done the adjuster delete, but i've been told that the Eibach rear springs might be a better option for this low. They are meant to be a bit stronger.
My B14 springs did 70k before they broke, and I think that was only due to a pothole breaking one, and the other failing because it was taking all the weight. So they lasted long enough for me to be happy, plus Bilstein sent me 2 new springs under warranty. I'm just not convinced the new ones will last now i'm daft low.

We got carried away on the thread!!

I’m really surprised you haven’t had to much rub that low. I had 20s no where near that wide and they rubbed loads on SoLow’s out of the box. Transporter HQ must have set you up perfectly. I’ve just put the cantera back on with a 245/40 19 wound half way down and I’ve got loads of room left in the arch.

so are you going to change suspension to the Eibach? I didn’t know thatB14s would last that long.. although you carry a fair bit of weight, but then a conversion must be heavy.
I’m booked in for the SoLow Air suspension 4th of august! I’ll start a thread on that journey! If I lived up your way I’d have had no problems finding some one to do it! So there will be a set of SoLow’s up for sale shortly! Only covered so far around 1500 miles o_O

Just to add to this... I’m running 18s with a 255/45 and I’ve just taken the van for a spin with the cantera 245/40 can anyone tell me why the ride on the 19s lower profile feels loads better than the 18 set up..!!

so are you going to change suspension to the Eibach?

I might swap out the rear B14 springs for the Eibach springs. They aren't easy to get hold of, and apparently the Eibach's come as standard on the new B14 comfort, but I might know where I can get a pair.

Your Solow's should sell pretty much straight away on here, loads of people waiting for them.
