All depends. If it’s a straight number/letter combination that means something to the owner, then fine. But if it involves bastardising the numbers & letters or spacing to make it into something it ain’t, then it smacks of desperation.
As ever just my 2 penneth, each to their own.

That why I waited so long to get mine! Useless to anyone else, but perfect for me!

A life of music, I bought it for my company van 20 years ago, and dragged it over to my next latest drive. Obviously being a 51 plate whatever the vehicle, it's not worth stealing, so a theft prevention device, 'cos crims are thick aren't they?!
