Finally got to use it at the weekend. My wife wasn’t sure about the Highland cow when she first saw it but it is her definitely her favourite. Looking forward to taking it with us to Scotland.

Has anyone used these over grass while camping yet? I'm staying at a site that allows raised firepits but warns that scorched grass isn't appreciated by the warden(!)

No but I will be next week and the missus had the same query. I said if they allow fire then they’d have to expect some small damage.
Alternatively I may use a foil baking tray or something to put under and catch the ash/embers

i'd actually started working on something similar that folds and fits in the front pocket of the bag
- though i've stopped that for the time being given that getting the bag finished is proving to be a pain an the ar*e taking longer than anticipated
