Phone and SOS settings questions

Good morning. Learning about my T6.1

I hit SOS last night in the dark, fumbling for interior lights.

Should that switch panel be back-lit?

And the SOS button on the contacts on the stereo, can I get rid of that?

Tia.

It would be interesting to hear about dismantling or decoupling the spy in the cab systems on the 6.1 as most new vehicle appear to be going that way. One of the reasons why I bought a late cancelled order T6 instead of the them new line of T6.1.

I would normally agree , but it certainly helped me when a guy decided to fall asleep in his merc , then got rear ended by a Lexus

It's not backlit in my 6.1 Caravelle but it does have the green state LED so I've never really had an issue knowing where it is.

I do prefer the arrangement in my BMW i3 where the similar switch is behind a very obvious flip down cover.

Nasty accident I hope that every one is OK! The vehicle looks written Off.

Tried my best to avoid but head on, I was ok, van looked after me , SOS kicked straight in , and even arranged the police

Yes written off, 26k plus vat to put it right , then vehicle hire was 9.5K plus vat

It seams almost unimaginable that some one should fall asleep a the wheel. When one is a passenger that can be a different matter but someone driving and not pulling over to rest when feeling that way is crazy. We see all sorts of bad things like, some one weaving around and it is very clear that the driver is on or playing with a mobile phone, texting even.

Really common on motorways in the afternoon after a nice lunch :-(

Check out BBC iPlayer crash investigators

When people fall asleep they leave no skidmarks and the onboard computer records the fact they dont touch the brakes at all 80-0 :-(

Whereas I bought a 6.1 because it was a better vehicle to drive and understand how this system actually works.
