Power-Latching Tailgate weird issue

No, not one of yours. The converter supplied everything. What I am trying to find out is, when power latching is installed, is a latch motor part of the supplied kit, or is it a part that comes with the van. I bought the van brand new.
If it came with van, it would be under warranty , & if it did, it won't be under warranty now will it

Its a factory option or a retrofit job, if they did it themselves then they would have bought the various parts from VW then wired them up to the van or possibly bought it from someone like myself or kufatec in which case the motor would have come as part of the kit

Hi All, fitted my tailgate power latch system to my van. All wired in etc but I've noticed that the latch, when the door is open sits about halfway down the slider, then when you close it it moved out then in. On opening the tailgate you can hear the latch almost dance in and out a couple of times before resting at the half way point.

Any ideas?

Mine has stopped too today, not sure if it's a symptom of the cold weather. - 18 this morning on my dash - 12.5 on my way home.

I had a spell where it didn’t work but now all seems well again. Seemed to be after I’d slept in there so maybe condensation.

So all good again today by midday as the temperature increased, I reckon moisture had frozen the microswitch.

Mine gave up the ghost a few weeks ago after going intermittent again. Had some time today so after re-reading the thread I realised the latching was actually on the catch/keep I could see there was quite a bit of grit and crap in there. I stripped it down and found this!!!!!



Absolutely full of crud so I gave it a dam good clean and re-grease. Sorted, back working and sounding as it did the day I picked it up.

Quick question on power latch
I’ve got van coming in a few weeks power latch was listed on order
does that mean side door and tail gate will both be power latch or just one whichever they chose
