Prospective new T6 owner

Sounds like a good spec, have you seen the VW mudflaps for yourself, the rears sit back from the arch and screw through the plastic bumper so you can't ever remove them without leaving a mess and if it catch it could be messy, I would consider ditching them for aftermarket or using modded caddy ones

That up there ^^^ is exactly why it's worth being on this forum...

OEM Mudflaps deleted from spec :)

So after all the playing around with the configurator and a happy all day test drive in a DSG van today this is what I went for...

T30 Highline Kombi 2.0 DSG in Cherry Red wíth -
2 + 1 split bench
Power mirrors
Heated seats (driver & passenger)
Captain seats (driver & passenger)
Composition media DAB
App connect
Parking sensors (front & rear) & camera
High beam assist
Power latch tailgate
Power latch side door
Comfort dash
Door seals
Fresh air intake with charcoal cannister
Mudflaps (front & rear)
Carpet floor in cab
And of course... LED's

Had a mental week at work, in at 6am finish at 8pm every day even had to go into work over the weekend (all unpaid overtime ) and then also found out good mate (since day one of secondary school) has a tumor, so to cheer myself up and because you're a long time dead I did the deed, pulled the pin and ordered my van on the way home from work on Saturday (I went to work mega early so I could get to the dealers before they shut ). Specced as above except I didnt go for mudflaps in the end.

Nice spec, just the agonising wait now for a build date...

Popped into my dealer yesterday and they confirmed a week 11 build date (Yikes, that's next week ), collection date arranged with dealer for 28th April and even have a reg no, this sh!t's getting serious

Just out of curiosity how do the dealers get the reg so early
Would be handy for me as the van I'm getting they reckon is only getting delivered to the dealers 5 days before I have to get it to the converters
So would be handy to know it for insurance purposes

Everytime I've bought a new vehicle (car or motorbike) the dealer has had a list of pre-assigned reg numbers and you can choose one off that list.

Hi all,

Looking at pulling the pin this weekend and ordering my first ever VW (currently have a Vivaro panel van and a Nissan Qashqai Tekna). My spec so far is the T30 150ps SWB Kombi in Highline trim and a DSG gearbox plus a few optional extras such as powerfold mirrors, heated front seats, swivel front seats, F&R parking sensors with camera and High Beam Assist. Are there any other important options any of you would suggest are essential?

One other question, do they do an option where I can have 3 individual second row seats instead of a bench seat?

Look forwards to hearing your comments and advice.

Cheers all :)
Just bought a very similar spec but wish I had have gone for an upgrade on the lights as the standard glow worms (H4s) are grim. Comfort dash is very nice.

Ooh the wait comtinues but to 'ease the pain' I've treated myself to a rear spoiler, front splitter, rear bumper protector and some 30mm lowering springs, just the wheels left to choose for now then :)

Ha yes you can but I've driven it straight from the dealers to my mates garage so we can fit the lowering springs and new wheels, photo's once I've actually managed to have a drive of it! :):):)

Those side windows are a massive security risk. I've got a T6 highline panel van with a solid steel bulkhead, i'd be willing to swap if you like?

As it came out of the dealers with 7 miles on it...

Hi wheeliebealie, will be ordering new 204 kombi next week, I know which spec I want but can’t make my mind up on colour, love the red and grey . Was at showroom for test drive yesterday and seen a cherry red just come off delivery lorry, the colour did not look as good as your pictures, just wondered, have they got protected coating on until they get in showrooms and buffed up, thanks for any help in this matter. Danny

I would say not, I work in car design and the previous companies I've worked for never have specified a wax or some other form of paint protective coating to be applied after trim and final (VW may be different but I doubt it). I'd suggest the reason mine 'looks so shiny' is because the van was only a couple of hours out of the dealer who probably did give it a clean and polish of some description (OK I'm aware of all the narrative on here regarding dealer cleaning but lets leave all that aside for the moment) and that it was a gloriously sunny day and by pure luck it caught it in 'all it's glory' as by no means am I any kind of photographer!

I don't want to cast a negative regarding red, we had a T5.1 in Salsa red and every time it picked up another stone chip on the front the white undercoat showed through like a dose of acne. Hence why I did not get another, and went for Sand and then Mojave Beige, which hide chips and dirt fantastically. Having said that I do like the Cherry red and once modded do look good.
