Another Altberg fan. If you can, go to the factory in Richmond Yorkshire. They will measure both feet, stood up and sat down, turned out I had a half size difference in my feet.

Does that mean that they sold you two different sizes as a pair or just made one side fit better with volume adjusters?

I bout some Anatom boots from Sport Pursuit. Like the OP I favoured Salomon as I have narrowish feet, but tend to wear boots and shoes out as I walk the hound on the local coastal path and the boots get well used.
For my good outdoor shoes and boots, I like Salewa, but they are fairly pricey,
