Recommendations for Leisure to Starter Trickle Charger

Looking for recommendations for a leisure to starter battery trickle charger.

I've lost my patience with having to start the van every 2/3 days to avoid the battery draining.

I have a PV Logic solar panel installed that keeps the leisure battery topped up pretty well. I then have a Sargent EC155 Power Supply Control managing power, and a Sterling Power battery to battery charging the leisure battery.

I have zero experience with electronics so won't be able to rig anything like that myself!

Research I've done so far is pointing me towards either a Votronic 12V Standby Charger or NOCO Genius 2D.

Thank you!

I've had the same fitted for the last year and now no starter battery worries at all
A small unit & not expensive
Fit & forget

Fitted by Brandon @AJCConversions last Christmas whilst upgrading a few other things - but I don't think the small unit is hard to install

Have all fitted 1, I believe

Only 3 wires to find a home for

Try looking at post #23 from the T6F electrical guru:

Another vote for the Ablemail. I fitted one when I did a leisure battery upgrade and it is brilliant. Fit and forget. Has kept my ailing starter battery running fine. It is really simple to fit, just 3 wires, so definitely worth looking to do yourself.

Also worth checking that your starter battery negative is configured correctly - if it has a 'shunt' then all the negatives should go through that. Some converters connect add-ons directly to the negative post bypassing the shunt, which they shouldn't do. I think this is covered on some of the charging threads.

If you have a DC-DC charger already then very often you can fit the AMT-12 there as you have all the terminals you need (battery positive from both and a ground) - care just needs to be taken that you don't compromise the high current connections in the terminals by trying to wedge in the trickle charge ones.

New Renogy 50Ah DC-DC with MPPT charger have option to trickle charge main battery when leisure battery is fully charged.
