Yep, there was a solar quick connect but I took it out to rule it out, it had a nick in the wire which I think started the whole thing...

It's been working fine for I reckon a couple of years, first time doing such a long journey in this heat and I'm wondering whether the nick in the solar quick connect may have caused a short and damaged something. The wire was exposed and in contact with the metal seat but wasn't a live cable but maybe caused a ground loop or something?
disconnected everything last, left it disconnected overnight, seat out this morning to check all cables, all looks good.
Reconnected up and did a factory reset in the Renogy BT app, then in the DC Home app reduced the charge rate down to 20A.
So far so good, it's charging at the 20A level and the temps must be fine as it's only 15 degrees here this morning.
Let's see what happens and how long it stays charging... if it packs in again it's surely got to be an internal fault that's developed on the box.
