Replacement dash switch blanks

I fitted them into the blanks, if you want some help how I did it just ask and I will list what was needed

Cool, thankyou! I want red and they are out of stock typically. Will have to order from China!

I love the idea of putting a latching switch into one of the blanks - so would like as much info as you can provide!

I'd like to insert a switch into a new blank then exchange it (in case I made a mess of the insertion and aborted). Did you obtain a new blank? I can't see easily how the blanks come out of the dash so any guidance would be useful too. Thanks

Anyone know if there are any OEM dashboard switches that "latch on"? I'm thinking of wiring in some lights and would like to have a factory look switch but I can only find ones that are press and release (like the ones that open the electric sliding doors)

Obviously the latter are no good for keeping the lights on.....but good for Morse code

None of them latch they are all momentary switches that send a signal to the BCM which then matches a relay of relevant
You would need to wire an OEM button to a latching relay to utilise

Thanks for the reply, another great bit of advice from the forum. I'll have a look into wiring in a latching relay

Most of the factory buttons are just momentary push buttons. Linked to the BCM.

But I'm assuming you need a latching switch.

Just be cautious of the current carrying capabilities of any switch and kit you fit.

the switches are left/right specific as they have a slight slant.

Here's our layout....

Hi, I want to exit a cable from the position in the photo. Can you tell me the best way to get the switch blank out please. Also I need to get the cable from near the drivers left foot to those switch location. Thanks in advance.

You could try a sucker on the blank and tug it out, otherwise you need to take the radio surround off to get a finger on the back of the blank to push it out. I don’t think you’d get a trim tool down the side to lever the blank out.

Thanks, I figured it out, got the radio surround out, pushed blanks out from behind and managed to feed the wire up from the gap just below the steering column.

Just to add to this, I am looking at using some of the blanks for switches/displays etc. I found I could remove the blanks with a standard trim tool from the front, and of course once you have one of a block out, the rest are easy. The part number of the blank is on the back. They all appear to be part no 7E0 959 623 with a letter at the end defining their shape to match the location.

Have you tried if upper row blanks actually fit also lower row - just upside down?

I have lost one of the six blanks on the dashboard - anyone know where I can get replacements?
