Requesting help from MMI if possible.

Hi MMI you very kindly helped me out a few years back, I was hoping you would be able to look at the attached scan and tell me which sensor is faulty.
Many thanks Paul.

Based on the fault codes it seems to be the same old one again - G31 - pressure sensor in manifold. It's the one which turned the dash light on.

The 13169 (G70 sensor) is an old one (not present any more) as the freeze frame data is not available.
The 15560 - EGR Sensor 1- shouldn't be an issue alone (without other EGR issues)

Perhaps you could again make the following blockmap data packages to confirm.

1) engine blockmap data - ignition ON, engine OFF
2) engine blockmap data - engine running at idle

How-to:

VCDS > Applications > Controller Channel Map >

For "Single controller address" - 01

Tick/fill boxes as above and click Go.

VCDS flashes screens for a moment (when finished hit "Done, Go Back") and there should be a file blockmap-01-... in folder C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Logs\....

Thanks MMI, my son who does the scans is back Friday so I will get him to do the two block maps. In the meantime I will try and remove G31 sensor and see if it’s sooted up again. Thanks for the quick response and I shall report back at the end of the week. Thanks

Hello MMI, sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Here are the two blackmaps, you requested I do. I? hope they contain the information you require, and once again thanks for taking the time to help me. Thanks Paul.

Thanks. The files seem to confirm it's the same issue as previously - G31 charge pressure sender.

The sensor G31 (red) shows weird values compared with other actual sensors (green) around the engine. Normally their values are close to each others both engine off and engine idling. As a consequence some calculated values will also get distorded (orange).

Hi MMI, thanks for looking at the data, I shall find the part number for G 31 sensor and order one up. I will let you no when it’s in and working. Thanks again Paul.

Excellent result! Thanks again for sharing the data files, and of course, for letting us know about the success.
