Review: DAV-TEC

Big thanks to Chris and Al for sticking it out yesterday and working late to save me having to come back another day.

Another big thank you to Chris @Dav-Tec for digging deeper into my vans issues that VW ‘should really’ be sorting under warranty themselves.

Well above & beyond on the customer focussed results as ever. Well worth the time/distance 2hrs+ 100miles each way for me.

I cant share specifics on mine at this stage but suffice to say I will be seeking Chris’s skills for several upgrades in the near future & would recommend him to all without hesitation.

After a quick-fire comms session, I managed to snag a short notice appointment with Chris, to fit a tracker on the 2 week old Kombi 4m.
The whole experience was 1st class. Dropped the van off ahead of schedule, Chris was ready to crack on and dropped me down to the station so I could carry on with my day job.
Chris completed the work, and some extras (sound deadening the bonnet lid and scuttle) well within his quoted time frame and the offer was there for a return lift from the station.
The van was exactly how I had left it with him, no hint that any works had been undertaken apart from the new fob on the key.
Tracker works as described, app is solid, functions are great.
Talks ongoing with Chris now as to what to get him to tackle on my list next.
Highly recommended. Great bloke, seriously high standards and a very smart guy.

Chris is the best vw specialist I’ve ever met. Yesterday, my van got cleaned from any faults about component protection and cruise control got finished. Now I can drive with only one hand :). A 320 mile drive but was totally worth it. Thanx.

Just got back from another trip, Basic wiring install on head unit from local audio installer was upgraded by Chris to enable more features, it’s given it much more of a factory feel which is what I asked for.

I also had a small niggling job which I could of had done on my All-In extended warranty, however I feel more comfortable having Chris and Al work on my van so I bought the replacement component (from advice from another forum member) and paid extra for Chris to fit it today, which says it all really.

Great guys, great service, attention to detail, very happy customer.

Chris talked me through the remap procedure and after some data logging… well all I can say is FML.. the old bird can shift like a steam train.. never thought the 204 DSG 4 motion would be so smooth.. with both the engine and DSG re-mapped I left with one massive smile on my face..

What can I say that's not already been said. Literally called Chris based on feedback on here and literally never spoken to someone so helpful. Following the call we had the van booked in for security upgrades and a remap for the following month. Chris called me the next day to confirm he had a cancellation and I could bring it in same week!! He kindly let me stick around at his home due to issues with changes to his workplace. Cannot wait to get the vehicle in again for a steering wheel upgrade. If you need any honest advice without anyone trying to oversell then Chris is your man. @Dav-Tec

I found Chris @Dav-Tec after searching the forum looking for a rear view camera for my barn door t6 with a discover media headunit.
After talking to him on the phone with numerous questions he explained "x" setup would work and even advised me the best way to wire it up properly mine of this reverse light feed etc. Rear camera kit turned up next day and I had more question on connecting to the headunit too which he explained exactly how to do it!
Really couldn't be happier with the service recieved, definitely goes up and beyond what is expected which is very rare in this day and age!
Thanks again and no doubt ill be purchasing something again soon!

Since starting my van conversion last August, this was my 3rd visit to Chris at Dav-Tech. The 1st was to have a reversing camera fitted. The 2nd was due to the product(camera unit) failing where Dav-Tech changed the camera with no quibble whatsoever and all has been fine since then. My 3rd visit was last Saturday 27th August when Dav-Tech(Chris) fitted a Meta-Trak S5 Thatcham approved Tracker. When I booked with Chris to have this work done I sent him a deposit on the Tracker £300. I then paid the balance on completion. As always, I found Chris to be very professional in his method of working and the way he explained the operation of the tracker to me. He is very knowledgeable of the product, whatever product he is fitting, if that be a tracker, a camera, speakers or in-car entertainment. I waited while the tracker was fitted due to the distance that I live away from Dav-tech, but was comfy on a sofa in a waiting area, offered tea or coffee and shown where the toilet was located should I need it. Fitting a tracker is quite an involved task and my waiting time was about 3hrs, but I was fine with my phone, a coffee and settled in on a sofa. I can thoroughly recommend Dav-Tech and for those of you who live some distance away, I am sure you will find Dav-Tech well worth the journey to have your work done by a consummate professional. Thank you again Dave-Tech for looking after me again.
