Safari windows fitted

Just wondering if anyone has fitted these with Vanshades?
We have gone for the curtain on the rails rather than the vanshades. Few reasons, the price and also the I think with vanshades the outa part comes in abit so for us we went with the curtains...but either look great...I haven't seen any safaris with vans hades but I'm sure they will fit

Back in stock overnight! Ordered both, due for delivery this week. Even managed 5% off, searching the forum for a discount code (chambers5). Just wondering if it’s worth buying some window trim? Anyone know the likely hood of damaging the trim when removing the window?
When we had a leaky window fixed, the garage that did it put new trim on so I'm guessing the old one can get pretty chewed up with the cheese wire

Glad the discount code worked for you.

We have just gone for the blackout premium curtains on the rails...really good and look nice tbf...vanshades look brill I just (personal opinion) think the outa part takes out alot of the window space...but either look great

Just had all our windows fitted around the van and fully carpeted...electrics ready for the next step
Opted for the Safari windows on both sides and wow they look amazing!!! So glad we went for these. The size of the window opening huge, looking forward to the next trip.
Just got to watch your head on them when you walk outside the van

Sure I passed you M6 southbound on Sunday, I was admiring the windows, defo next think you do replace solid sides with these

So we went for it this weekend, managed to get one window fitted, removing the old window was a lot more involved than I expected, surprised the wife didn’t file for divorce during the process . Glad I bought some new window trim seals as they got destroyed removing the old window (edit: thanks to @TeeCeeJay for the heads up on that!). Anyway it looks great and opens up a lot more than the old sliding window. Still got the sliding door to replace, that’ll be in a few weeks.

looks great they are so worth it

Love the open lock position for camping :)
Having been fitted for nearly a year now the only issue I've had is when I heard a rattle and wind noise on one drive, a quick check over soon identified one of the handles had gotten a little loose so nipped it up with an allen key and job sorted. It's only happened once but something to keep in mind

Yes its definitely a bonus isn't it the lock positioning

Got an update and it’s not a good one, I have water coming through somewhere. I’ve checked the usual suspects and both drainage channels are clear. I suspect I’ve messed up the bonding somewhere, to say I’m gutted is an understatement. Is there anyway of salvaging it, sealing from the inside or trying to pinpoint where the water is coming in? Or is it a window out job, which will likely trash this window and then pay a professional to sort my mess out?

By a very scientific method of stuffing loo roll in the gaps between the window and the trim and pouring vast amounts of water behind the window, I think I have found where it’s getting in. It’s the top right hand side (if in the van facing the window). I did struggle a bit there as the bonding agent is rather tough to squeeze out of the tube with the gun. So I’m thinking I have nothing to lose and may as well try and plug it from the inside. I’m thinking of flattening the end of silicone nozzle, ramming it in and giving it a good squeeze. I appreciate this is a bit cowboy, but if anyone else has any ideas of salvaging this mess before full window removal, please let me know. I wasn’t even trying to cheap out with this, just really fancied working on the van myself………. Lesson learned the hard way I guess!
