Service Centre recommendation in the South West

Hi all, Im trying to narrow down the best reviewed VW Van Centre for my next service. Swindon or Bristol are the best location regarding travel. My concern is that all Official VW Van Centres customer care reviews are shocking .....and I've got extended warranty/service plan with my 2021 bus?!!

I've got a couple of warranty issues I want to address so want to make sure I use a decent garage. I called Bristol Heritage (now Mon Motors) when I first needed to service our new van and got a guy who was leaving Heritage who advised me not to use them as the service was rubbish!! My experience twice with Swindon has been poor to say the least.

One issue (I'll start a separate thread) is the front distance sensor keeps blipping out so we have no cruise control or any other safety feature, it all gets deactivated ....the van centre just doesn't care. An ex VW Van technician told me the job to exchange for a new unit requires huge amounts of calibration they are not set up for.

Also boot lid actuator switch has broken so I have to climb through the back over all my kit (or camping gear if we're) away to open the rear lid! They're not too bothered about that either 🤣

Any advice would be amazing and all best

You may be better off to travel a bit further to a recommended garage if you’re getting warranty work done

Can only speak from personal experience, & if you’re okay with travelling a bit further…Marshall’s Reading have been awesome for me. Sorted out various bits covered under warranty & provided a courtesy van free of charge for anything I’ve needed to have done. Spent a good half an hour stood on the forecourt chatting to one of the mechanics about the van as he’s a big enthusiast.

Of course reviews for anything at all will always throw up bad experiences for some, due to a multitude of factors & people usually being more forthcoming with a complaint than they are praise. The above guys above have always provided a top service for me.

May be a bit out of your way but I've used Marshalls at Bridgwater VW Van Centre for 6 years and found them to be very good.
I have my van booked in here in 2 weeks time as that’s where I bought it from. Happy to travel from Bristol

I live in Swindon and bought my van from the Swindon van centre. I got two years free service but as soon as that was up I’ve taken my van to Dellers Garage on Hobley Drive in Swindon. They have serviced all my vehicles for over 20 years. The mechanics all have Transporters. I don’t know if they can help you with the warranty work.

I've used Tewkesbury (once and wouldn't go back) and Swindon who have now done three services, a cam belt / water pump change and dealt with a warranty claim (software update to fix spurious adblue warnings). TBH, I've had to take their word that the work has all been done as per the schedule but I've no real way of knowing but that would appliy equally to any other service centre as well. Judging by reports from others on here, I also suspect that there are worse out there. Having said that, my All In Plan expires after the next service and I'll be going to a local specialist for any work after that. Sorry, I know that's probably not much help.
