I would love on of those in my garage to pair with the R1250GSA. The GSA is an excellent bike (it's my third) but every so often I get the itch for something a little more sporty that I can still fit on :)
I'm finding it quite un-comfy to be honest, the GSA would be much better, probably the wrong trousers I'm wearing.... went out with a couple of mates on GSA’s, the black one my mate is a good rider and I couldn’t keep up in the twistys, GSA has loads of torque – and he had a pillion….. :oops:On the straights the K1300 is quicker but in the right hands (not mine) the GSA seems loads of fun. Huge bikes though:thumbsup:

How are you finding the V4? worth swapping as 1250GSA for?
ooh. Thats a close call mate. The Ducati has the edge from a technology perspective at the moment. Fantastic bike. Can't fault it really. In my eyes the Ducati has the 'sexier' image compared to the BMW but the GS has been king of the hill for so long for a reason.

Ducati makes its power at the top end (mad power for an adventure bike!) where the BMW has much more low down useable torque.

They are so close I think it boils down to personal preference

To be fair the GS is a quick bike once the road gets a bit more twisty. (B roads etc) Quicker than the S1000RR I had until the road opens up a bit.

Was anyone at the ABR festival last weeken? plenty of T6 and other vans there. It was a great weekend.

My bike is the clone of the black one in your picture. I love it for long-distance and its off-road ability. It does handle well on one road I know really well my mate on his super duke struggled to keep up. But to be honest I'm not into the really twisty stuff. I like long open sweepers where I can maintain speed, so It might work for me.

1 GS and 2 GSA's back-to-back have been brilliant but it's that itch for something different and the V4 has it I think. But would I end up changing after a few months to go back to the do it all brilliant (for me GSA) mind you there is talk of a new one for next year possibly an M version which might be fun? With bikes and transporters, my kids inheritance is going up in smoke

I’ve had several GSAs. They are one of the most accomplished machines ever.

If you’ve never ridden one, just don’t take one for a short test ride.

They can earn there own money mate! Thats how I see it. lol I prefer the V4 over a GS personally but I have never owned a BMW long term and only test rode them. If they brought out a new model, like you say, it could all change though
