I have the same issue and don't have the black mechanism with the cables. I just have the white plastic box with white pipe going to it and the thing with loads of wires going into it.

My coat got stuck in the door and it still there. Can't see any way of releasing the door and getting it out so can't drive the van at moment as it's hanging out of the side. The van has seats but it's a converted T6.1 panel van.

Can any one help?

I think you've fallen into the situation I wondered about in my earlier post:

So I don't think the vans built at the factory without the seats have the crash clutch system - something you might want to think about should the worst happen as it's annoying now but more critical if you've been in an accident.

You might only have an electric door release, so you might need to try temporarily connecting the door electrics to the ones in the B pillar to power things up is the obstruction is stopping the contacts.

I'd also have a good look up at the rear lock area, even if the clutch isn't fitted there might be either an external mount where the cable would fit or similar that might be able to trigger the lock.

Looks like you got it fixed and found the cable tucked up to trigger the lock:

Yep, posted in two places in the hope of getting advice and I did. The advice I got saved me a day of messing about and my ego is just about intact.

This forum is fantastic.

I wonder if there is a way to unlock the door with VCDS to resolve the issue. On my Audi I could activate the windows, doors etc. with vcds.

The problem is there is no connection to the door, so no power and no Comms, because the root cause is something gets trapped right at the point where the wedge connector is on the B pillar.

It's not an issue on the T6 (as far as I'm aware) as there is still a physical Bowden cable to the lock, but to increase security on the T6.1 the primary locking is electronic.

There is an amount of skulduggery done on the T6.1 to trigger the door close motors in the body if you have power closing, but that's very low power and if it doesn't work you just shove the door.

The TLDR is if you have a T6.1 be hyper careful about stuff getting trapped on closing around the electrical wedge connector.
