Looked at a possible T6 conversion today (that's right I ond't own one yet - am i allowed to post????

2 things were odd - the water tank was under the seat and the leisure batt only had a charge from a solar panel (lovely touch) and the hookup
No charge from the alternator, the guy who converted it said it wasnt possible with the T6 (which i know is untrue)
Is it common though that this isn't set up? I assumed the water went under and the LB charged from the running of the van just because my friends does - am i being fussy or is this guy a rookie?:
