Sounds like a golf (sounds like rust??)

Hi all.

I installed the rubber "sounds like a golf " seals.. they have been on for about 5 months.

I've noticed what could be rust starting.. can you check yours and let me know.

Anyone go any thoughts on this, is there a product I should buy to treat it?

Have you washed the area?

The main door seal is known to rust, that might be from that. And washing down?

I'd say it's debris on the door seal getting rubbed into the paint in the door apature. Perhaps clean it off and apply some PPF.

Spot on advice, thanks, I've used some polish.. I think it was fallout from having the diesel heater fitted... I will get some PPF, have a quick look on Amazon , do you have a suggested product?

For areas like that buy a roll of helicopter tape in the correct width.

If you're worried about swarf from the diesel heater and if you can, check under the step. They aren't easy to get out, but under my step was full of rusty swarf. All sorted now.

There is waxoil under there already and a drain hole bit still not nice having it sat in there.
