Are you sure? I thought the only difference is the width of the tyre by 20mm not the diameter..

Sidewall 45 is a percentage of the width not mm.

I went for 255/45 that's the recommended size for 18s by VW
Rolling circumference is virtually identical to the 17s they replaced

You learn something new every day. I always thought it was the tyre wall height in mm and not a ratio of the width and that's why I love this forum and thanks @Pauly @DaveBos @Loz @RattyMcClelland . I'll get the dealer to put 255/45/18 on if he can match the same price.

Just don't expect to get a lot for your factory 16s..... I only got £360 for my Claytons!!!

Sportline T5.1 Matte Black alloys ordered with 255/45/18, decided not to get dealer to lower it as i think a 40mm drop would look better. Picking up Friday and cant wait.

@Walski is that all you got? I was told to expect around £500 for the Claytons, that sucks. Might just keep them as spare or put winter tyres on.

I'll eat my words, just at vw having lowering springs fitted and been wheel watching as I want to ditch my 16" claytons. I wasn't a fan of the new sportline rims but they do look good in the flesh on a van .

A t5 convertor bought mine and says he buys lots of sets and about £350 is about right. I thought he'd got a right bargain!!

Two more sportline alloy versions coming in December there will be a satin black bi colour with more polished area on lower hockey stick and same Anthracite version I have seen a rendering will try and get a photo soon.
