They are in deed supposed to do that . The dual rated spring is designed like that to allow the lowering required and to be able to stretch open enough to stay tight in the mounts when the car is on a lift and off the groundThe two bottom spring coils are touching each other in the video, backed up by the photos showing the rubbed paint on the spring.
Is that normal, seems odd if it is?

I deal a lot with Bilstein so if you need any help let me know.
As a last measure ( before removing them completely ) i can supply a new back end spring kit , which can sort the problem out properly . I fear replacing rear springs "like for like" will prolong the agony . I have put a few rear spring kits in to stock to help clients with B 14 rear issues .Hi Oli
I wonder if you can help, I've had the same problems as mentioned on this post. The supplier changed one of the front drop links which has improved the clunking/knocking on the front however the rear remains. They state they've stripped the whole set up and can't identify any problems. They've been in contact with Bilstein to explain yet have had no response. Do you have a copy of any correspondence you've sent or been sent?, it's driving me nuts and I'm contemplating having them removed completely.
My van is a T32 SWB with H&R ARB's fitted running on Devonports if that helps.
Thanks
Si

Are you local for us to take a look? We had one in the other day, fitted by a well known 'suspension seller with free fitting', and they were fitted loose and not aligned - We sorted it all no problem. Unfortunately without seeing it and road testing we can't be much more help remotely. I will say that the warranty with Bilstein is awesome, and they will get onto it. Have you taken it back where they were fitted and what did they say?
And I agree you should have to pay out more for something that is warranty!
Have you had a chat with Bilstein directly? There is a modified rear shock absorber/bush available
Ok. We have the parts on site but I don’t think you are local?
Ok. If you get nowhere with a Bilstein let me know and I’ll copy to you into an email with them.
No joy, Aaron their Bilstein rep cannot offer any technical support! So frustrating
