Looks like this could be the 1st thing i fit once i get the Van, so annoying that you can't have anything in this country without someone else deciding they're entitled to it, because you haven't locked it up. I remember when you could leave your front door unlocked and...............................

I have to take my spare wheel off for good with the abt bodykit.

Never used it anyway. The flats I get I go home fine and sort it then or use the tyre liquid. Long journeys overseas I have a few spares in the van.

As with all things security where it simply isn't worth it and it might simpler to just let them take it and get it replaced.

If they really want it they will turn up with cordless 4" angle grinder :sneaky:

Worth noting the link to t4rus is not the correct bolt for our vans, think its the 90mm version i fitted
Yes and I did qualify it. However can't see the long one on there anymore so you might need to get on the telling bone.

It will work for me because I have decided to leave 16" spare on the new van. It will only ever be the emergency spare and there is minimal circumference difference. Anyway it weighs less so a BlueMotion spare :D

If someone wants to cut mine off, then be my guest..... If you look closely at the pics you will see a 12 Ltr tankful of LPG.
One spark and it's all over........

I've took my 17" alloy out and put a 16"steel in place..
i have another brand new steel with brand new tyre if anyone wants one..

Has anyone fitted a locking nut to their spare wheel carrier.......or do they come as standard? On the subject of security, has anyone bothered with an old school steering wheel disc or similar?

I have a spare safe to go on ours, was going to put it on this morning if I get time.
I am also thinking of a couple of extra custom security additional things like disable DSG gear lever solenoid and remove power to ODB port.

I have got some stock of genuine VW spare wheel locking bolt and aftermarket shroud/surround to protect the head of bolt, same as the stuff listed on eBay etc but a bit cheaper bought together will get them up in the shop when I get 5 minutes

image.png Don't want to speak to soon, but so far.....
Give them a call as they charge £45 with delivery over the phone.
