Stop start not working after being at dealership

What is brake under pressure too low mean?
My guess - it's just poor German-English translation: unterdruck = vacuum (as the brakes are operated by engine generated vacuum)

The brake under pressure has me intrigued because since they replaced the brake fluid the brake pedal doesn’t feel hard when you come to a stop like it did, in fact you can sometimes push it all the way to the floor. Quite concerning really. Not sure what this means apart from it’s not right.


REALLY stupid question, how do I tell what version of cable I have?

I presume you've ceased to drive the vehicle if there are question marks over a critical safety system? The anchor pedal going to the floor is not good at all. Get it recovered and sorted. Phone Motability RAC, they guarantee to be out within half and hour.

It's printed on the sticker on cable's connector, also seen in VCDS Auto-Scan header. Well, only the newer cables are identified in the header - older ones do not identify themselves.

Yes parked up currently and not being used I value not only my safety but that of everyone else on the roads and pavements etc.. RAC are not 90 minutes if you are at home, in our experience recently it can be up to 48 hours.
 
RAC run a different scheme for motability to the commercial one for Joe Public. They have special patrols dedicated to just motabikity customers. They will come very speedily for a motability call - they're contractually obliged to.

You are crrrect about the different contract. We have a dedicated number to call and you get answered usually within 2 rings. The time is am quoting you are the worst case when at home, normally it is around 6 hours. I have been keeping a log just out of curiosity to see how slow they are.
 
Right folks it’s been a while. I am back, still have the issue with the stop start (no issues found with the brake pedal - apparently) and so I bought the latest legit HEX-V2 from Gendan.

The instructions above were really clear and really helpful and I managed to download the CVS file with no issues at all, my question is should this be with the engine off or with it running?

1) Engine off (ignition on)​
2) Engine running (idle)​
- because engine off all the actuators are at rest, no charge air, no oil pressure, etc.
- engine idling e.g turbo vanes are at their max pressure position,

To further activate emission related sensors engine need to be at it's operating temperature - e.g. NOx sensors activate after 15-20 minutes after startup.
Thus eventually blockmaps below would give more information

4) Hot engine stopped​

To collect even more data VCDS can be programmed to collect blockmaps continuosly using "Repeats" option - extremely useful :geek:

I have a 150 mile trip planned in the next few days as well so would running it before during and after be of any use? Sorry for being so dull, with VCDS I feel like a primary school kid who has been taken out and stuck straight into University. So much to learn and it’s all very daunting still.

4) Hot engine stopped
If the stop-start would happen work - my preferred way to stop the engine is to let stop-start stop it (then release seat belt to prevent engine restart) - as cycling ignition resets pretty much everything.

VCDS I feel like a primary school kid who has been taken out and stuck straight into University. So much to learn and it’s all very daunting still.
I felt the same a few years back - but as gradually started to get grasp of the capabilities got really excited of it. Actually VCDS is superior as data collection tool - of course the data interpretation is another story - where Forum members have been very valuable by providing real life challenges.
 
I don’t have that info yet but here is a basic scan of our car. This is the car that the dealer said was showing no faults.

Quite a few faults were captured at low battery voltage?
Including the strange one - P0606 00 - at 11.220 Volts, although has happened only once.

By default VCDS uses "aggressive mode" to scan vehicle's fault memory. Usually this mode brings up more faults than dealer tool which filters out "expired" faults (=faults which have not reoccured for some time).

That P06060 00 is showing up at the time the car would have been started ready to go to work. Nothing was left on overnight in the car and the car started normally with no issues or sluggishness on cranking.
 
Yes, noticed that engine was already running - perhaps it was just the brief moment after engine was started and alternator was not yet charging - thus the (too?) low voltage.
For reference on T6 it takes more than 2 seconds after engine is started and running before alternator starts actually charging.
