Strange noise under acceleration when cold ?

Noticed lately that my new van does this, i live in a bit of a valley so either direction from home is uphill and the first acceleration when cold makes a strange whoosy dragging squeely turbo noise, mine only seems to do it once the first time the revs come up a bit from tickover with a bit of throttle under load (going uphill) then doesnt do it again, concerned me the first few times i heard it but now look at it as a characteristic of the engine
