Struggles with motorway speed.

How fast are they supposed to go?
I have a single turbo T6 with a remap to 198hp.
Loads of low-down torque and power but it really works hard at 70mph.
I do have chunky heavy wheels.
I'm curious to know what's normal or if I need to be investigating injectors and HPFP

That doesn't sound normal. Mines's less power than yours and is very comfortable at motorway speeds, it can cruise happily at 90, or so I believe.

Thanks for the info.
I wonder what I need to be looking at.
It starts fine so that pretty much rules out the injectors.
Maybe it's the DSG gearing.
I'm just hoping it's not the HPFP

It's ex RAC and had a new engine at 95000. (130,000 now).
It has a new turbo, no leaks.
But when the logbook says 'new engine', that's literally what it is and nothing else. So, for example, the injectors and fuel pump will be original.

What was remapped - Just the engine or the engine and DSG
What weight are you carrying
What other mods that may make a difference (you mention heavier wheels)

When you say works hard at 70 do you mean foot to the floor or high engine revs??

None of the diesel engine options are very fast, if youre used to proper fast vehicles they all feel a bit turgid, but even then you should have no difficulty getting briskly to 70 and easily maintaining that speed.

Big heavy wheels and tyres will blunt things a little but not by much.

I'd be suspicious of the remap - a lot of them shift peak power about a bit but gain little, if any, extra area "under the graph."

This is probably worth a read...

It was much quicker after
Then it's likely not the map, but not definitive.

Did it have a full service and health check, a proper Stage 0 before doing the map?

A scattergun approach won't fix this. Get the van to a reputable spanner jockey that knows these vehicles, get them to investigate properly.

I don't know what a stage 0 is
Ensuring the entire vehicle is freshly serviced and everything operating optimally. Only a loon would chuck the keys at a remapper without first ensuring everything is A1 first, and a good tuner will be asking to ensure that was the case before they start work.
