Struggles with motorway speed.

Mines an ex-RAC and had a limiter on it set to 70MPH. It did feel and sound like it was straining when at that limit.
No issues now I had it removed. Not my area of expertise so I asked the guys at Absolut5 to do it.

BTW I think I spotted you yesterday near the White Water Rafting centre at Cardiff Bay 👍

All I can add is that my 150PS with a full side kitchen camper conversion in the back will do 90 MPH easily. On that occasion, it was due to temporary inattention and I've not been past that but there was definitely a bit more under the pedal. In Europe, we generally cruise at 75 and the van seems very happy doing it.

Ya as everyone has said before no way should your transporter be down shifting or struggling at 70mph.. does sound like something it limiting it and if no dpf to clog it up.. assume all wheels spin freely and no bearing issues or brakes binding?

you probably did see me!
:)
I'm guessing the limiter just cuts out the power at 70, rather than restricting the power before 70.
I'll do some VCDS limiter research.
Change the fuel filter.
Make a fairing.
Then see - but I really think there's something more to it as 198hp should be plenty

No binding brakes or dodgy bearings - I had the wheels off yesterday to muck about with spacers.

Did you have the same problem before the remap? I assume it was a 150 originally and as others have said a 150 should have no problem at 70. Did the remap make it better or worse?

I don't think I took it on a motorway before the remap. and yes, a little under 150 prior to the remap

It was nippier after the remap.

I intend to check the fuel pressure with VCDS and see what comes up

I know it's not a T6, but my 5 series has a speed limit function. I doesn't have ACC, so this is useful through average speed check sections. I can still adjust my speed with the pedals, but it won't go above the set limit unless I engage kickdown. When the limiter is set, pushing the pedal further and getting no response feels like it has no power, or is struggling. My money is on your van still having the 70mph limiter set.

That roof box is the problem.
It's an aerodynamic anchor.
Take it off, go down the motorway at 70 and then tell me I'm wrong.
Too much work to take it off just to test it. It'll be a permanent fixture as I'm moving into my van.
I totally get your point, though.
I'll make a much-needed fairing for it.

I've just changed the fuel filter (so nice to have VCDS prime it for me) and I'm doing a scan now.

Then I'll run the engine for a bit followed by a fuel pressure test.

Tyres won't be helping.

It could be alot of things, best to get a health check done.
Totally. I got them for Scandinavia, but of course, like the rest of us with chunky tyres, I'll be mostly dragging them down motorways.

Is a health check a dealership thing?

Is it DSG or manual? What RPM are you at, at 70mph. I had this issue years ago and that was a blocked fuel filter on a BMW.
DSG
The revs are quite low in top gear @70.
I'd have to go for a drive to find the exact number

Maybe a rolling road session to check it's delivering the correct boost pressure etc.

At a guess, it could be that it isn't boosting correctly or fuelling correctly. Or a combination of the 2.

I just checked with VCDS and the limiter is set to 200kph (now that would be nice but terrifying!)

Did a scan before priming the fuel filter and it showed low pressure in rail - to be expected, then another scan after priming and running the engine and the low pressure fault was no longer there.
I'll now do a pressure test with the engine running
