Subwoofer

Ok thanks. Googled line level, I’m guessing I just need one rather than one from each speaker. It’s a focal 10” the amp is alpine.
Usually your amp will take a left and right input and combine them and filter them to give you a signal for the sub. Does your amp have a DSP or is it just a two channel amp?

Sorry it’s 8” sub. Yes a channel amp. Ok so I need 2 line levels then one for each side. I’m getting there now I think. Thanks

You'll need an amp with a low pass filter in. You don't want to send the full frequency range to your sub.

Anything that has a low pass crossover/filter will be fine. Do you have a link to the amp you already have?

I haven’t got the link but this is the product Alpine BBX-T600 Amplifier
That's fine mate, It will accept speaker inputs but you'll need to solder RCA plugs on to your spliced connections to the front speakers on the head unit. Set the crossover to LPF and connect your sub to the +ve connection on LH Speaker and -ve connection on RH Speaker.

Just as quick one... I used a spare sub from my home audio kit.. Anthony gallo mp150 .. only needed the speaker not the amp, As its all housed up I just popped it under the passenger seat... You can pick them up cheap on ebay as the have been updated...

Just thinking where’s the best point to get the power for the amp from?, obviously I’ll have to fit an in line fuse

Amps draw a lot of current. Your best going straight to your leisure battery or starter battery.

Great advise people thanks.
So got all the speakers wired along with sub and amp working but then the van battery went dead. Charged it up for a short while and can starts ok but the amp isn’t turning on (comes on when ignition is on), might this be because the van battery doesn’t have enough charge yet?
