We’ve had everything painted in our demo van. Leathered the sun visors and replaced all the overhead button for black versions.
Got round to it eventually. Just need some caravelle door cards off eBay now. Wasn’t going to bother with lower trim but now I’m thinking I might have to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve gone the other way around it. Done lower dash & door cards. Just ordered black grab handles for the A Pillars, passenger headliner handle & Seat belt cover caps. Spraying up the headliner overhead console in matte black. Just need to figure out what to do with the sunvisors after that.
Yeh that looks class. where did you get your lower trim? there is a replacement part that’s already black for overhead console if you mean the lights. I sprayed and carpeted the cubby up there. I sprayed the sunvisors in buzzweld pio. I never use them so it should hold up ok
Yeah I’ve got the Passat W8 Light fitting with the red ambient lights, in black on the way & bought a plug & play harness from @saxoboy for it. Just got to spray up the plastic surround.
Unsure on how to do the inside of the cubby hole. I worry about overspray inside it or the spray paint pooling at the bottom so may flock just that little bit.
My sunvisors rarely get used so could go that route also. The Missus uses it more so for the mirror. There’s a few places I’ve seen that’ll retrim them but the prices I’ve seen are pretty high.
Yeh, I saw the retrim places, thought I’d give spray a go first and it looks alright. Used the mirror few times and it doesn’t scrape off or anything. That buzzweld is pretty good. Wouldn’t use it on anything that gets heavy use though. I carpeted the inside of the cubby. It’s tricky but if you make a template it goes in alright . Sprayed the outside part.
I’ll have to have a look at those Passat lights. Mines just from a golf I think. No red ambient lights
Nice one for the info mate. I’ll let you know how the W8 light goes. I got it from AliExpress & had a notification yesterday that it’s now in the country, so I should have it pretty soon
wish I’d gone down that route now. Just saw them on there. Paid 50 for a normal one off an r32.

Oh you got them all new? must of cost a pretty penny. You haven’t got the part numbers for them bits? If not I’ll just have to browse through. I definitely do have all of the part numbers mate. I’ve obviously kept my lower dash standard in spec & not done a comfort upgrade as I need a bench seat for work purposes. The drinks holder/wine cooler bit lands way too close to the middle seat for it to be viable unfortunately.
Nice one . Ah didn’t realise that. I was gunna keep it standard anyway. But feel better knowing it wouldn’t work.
I’ve seen a video from 'Advanced In Car Technologies’ showing it fitted in a van with a bench. And it doesn’t fully foul it or prevent correct operation of the unit. But it sits way too close & renders that half of the seat useless really
That’s no good then really, we use the double seat all the time
I sprayed up the centre console over the last couple days & fitted the light unit earlier
Only one of the red ambient lights was working but only very faintly. Then that died too after a few minutes. Never easy is it!!
ah you have different setup to mine. The spray looks good. strange the lights only worked briefly. Could that be a voltage issue? Need a resistor? Should just work with that extra harness though?
