Switch Relay vs Solar or both?

I bought a T6 SWB Highline in May, which is perfectly converted except for a faulty switch relay. A friend replaced it with a cheap one, but it only worked temporarily after a "boost" and stopped charging the leisure battery once the engine turned off. After reading many threads, I still can't figure out the issue. I'm hesitant to buy an expensive product like the CTEK D250SE (Home) without knowing why the standard relay isn't working. Also, if I get solar, I assume I'd need a system like that.

Another issue is the leisure battery is under the passenger seat, and I want to install swivel seats. Most people advise against keeping the battery under swivel chairs, although it works fine for a friend with a Vivaro. Moving the battery under the driver’s seat seems complicated and requires modifications.

It feels like a simple job, but getting the leisure battery properly charging has been a headache, let alone fitting the electrics for swivel seats. Any advice or recommendations for places to look at the van in East London would be appreciated!

Not quite sure what you have re.”switch relay” but assuming it’s a split charge relay for the leisure battery, then:-
A, it should ONLY work with the engine running. No engine, no leisure battery charge.
B, it will only charge your LB to around 80%, to get 100% charge, you need a Battery to battery charger.
C, there’s no reason why a LB won’t fit under a swivel seat on the passenger side, it’s standard setup.
D, pour yourself a drink and spend an hour reading @Dellmassive s “How to’s” there’s a wealth of knowledge there & many of your questions will be answered.

As Salty Spuds says.

More of an issue if you are talking about a double swivel.

Yes I probably should have been more specific it is a double seat. Ideally I would fit under driver seat which I have seen some people do but Looks like access is then a bit of an issue and may even need to get a rib seat instead of my standard factory one.
